Started in 2005, Freshman Convocation is a "rite of passage" designed to set the tone for the college careers of incoming freshmen. CSU faculty and administrators use the occasion to formally welcome freshmen and to convey the significance of educational endeavor and the university's commitment to support students in achieving their goals.

Day of Service

To volunteer, faculty, staff and students should use the online reservation system of the United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley Volunter Center. Projects include:

Clearing a site for a new Habitat for Humanity house.
Renovating a baseball field for the North Columbus Boys and Girls Club.
Planting shrubs at the D.A. Turner YMCA ...
 And seven other projects.

First-time volunteers will have to take a few minutes to register. Then, after you're logged in under Welcome to the Corporate Events area! heading, a box will appear asking for a sponsor code. Type in "csu" and pick a project. There may be a prompt requiring participation in orientation, but that's unnecessary for the Day of Service.
